Malta
The island of Malta has an incredible sunshine record, sparkling clear seas, and fascinating history. The Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and French have all left their mark on this island. However so have the English, so you will feel at home with the locals speaking English and driving on the left. The island has a gentle landscape of low green hills sloping down to a coastline that varies between wide, sandy bays and rocky coves, where you will find almost every imaginable watersport from windsurfing to paragliding, water skiing or fishing. If you wish to discover some of the history of Malta, try a visit to Valletta, the fortified city built in the 16th century by the Knights of St John. In general Malta not only offers visitors an insight to its history but also a wide range of sophisticated restaurants, bars and nightclubs as well as fiestas in every town - it offers something for everyone.
