Airport Security Manager

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

  • To manage the security department at the Airport, being responsible for implementing all mandatory regulations and security of the property, materials, equipment, and personnel using, visiting or transiting the Airport
  • To ensure the highest level of security is maintained at the Airport.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To be responsible for implementing security policy as per the NASP and any variations issued and have available the appropriate and current security reference material.
  2. To assist the Cyber Responsible Manager with NASP and CAA CAP 1753 cyber security compliance, including maintaining staff and security equipment documentation as required for regulator audit.
  3. To liaise and co-ordinate with external agencies such as Police, Customs, DfT and CAA.
  4. Develop and control the Security departmental budget.
  5. To oversee and monitor progress of various security related projects.
  6. To co-ordinate the day-to-day activities pertinent to security.
  7. To attend training courses, update briefing and committee meetings as and when required.
  8. To oversee the recruitment of all security staff and completion of all relevant training.
  9. To be responsible for effective risk assessments being in place pertinent to security and ensure the implementation of any remedial actions identified.
  10. To identify, develop and oversee relevant training for all security personnel.
  11. To manage the security staff and monitor their performance.
  12. To ensure all relevant information is communicated to all security staff, also ensuring that regular meetings take place at all levels.
  13. To update and maintain the relevant security documents / procedures; ensuring CIMS is adhered to.
  14. To ensure availability for planned audits and be available where possible for unannounced audits and liaise with auditors.
  15. To conduct internal audits and develop / maintain quality assurance programs.
