POSITION:                    AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL OFFICER

 

DEPARTMENT:             AIR TRAFFIC SERVICES

 

REPORTING TO:           SENIOR AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL OFFICER – SATCO

 

A vacancy for the post of Air Traffic Control Officer has become available.

MAIN SCOPE OF JOB

To provide aerodrome control and approach radar control at Norwich Airport in accordance with Manual of Air Traffic Services Parts 1 and 2, the Air Navigation Order and the Aerodrome Manual.

DUTIES

  • To provide aerodrome control
  • To provide approach radar control
  • To provide flight information services
  • To formulate and ensure despatch of METARs
  • To ensure that information is processed and disseminated to relevant departments
  • To provide supervision of the Air Traffic Control Assistants
  • To undertake any other task commensurate with the responsibilities of the post

REQUIREMENTS

 

Essential

  • A current valid Air Traffic Controller’s Licence issued by the UK CAA and containing valid aerodrome control and approach radar control ratings.
  • A current medical certificate.
  • A current Certificate of Competence in Meteorological Observing.

Desirable

  • At least 2 years experience as a practising Air Traffic Controller in a radar environment.
  • Experience of working in Class D and Class G airspace.
