    Norwich Airport offers flights to  throughout the whole year flying from Sunday to Friday. Aberdeen has a surprisingly mild temperature for its northern location, making it an ideal base to explore the lowlands and highlands of Scotland alike. During the summer, the temperature for the average warmest month is around 19ºC, with average lows during the coldest month being around 1ºC.

    The area around Aberdeen is studded with amazing opportunities to enjoy, as well as having the city to explore itself. There are over 50 golf courses in and around Aberdeen, including one of the world’s oldest courses, the Royal Aberdeen Golf Club.

    Scotland is famous for its whisky and there are many distilleries in Aberdeenshire where you can visit and sample a taste. One of the most beautiful distilleries in Scotland, famous for its production of Chivas Regal whisky, is the Royal Lochnagar Distillery which is just an hour away from Aberdeen.

    Aberdeenshire has more castles per acre than anywhere else in the United Kingdom, with some 300 castles. There are countless famous castles amongst the 300, such as Slains Castle where it is said that Bram Stoker conceived Dracula. There is Craigievar the seven-storey pink castle, which is said to have been the prototype for the Walt Disney castle featured at the start of most Disney films, however, no castle in Aberdeenshire is as famous as Balmoral Castle which remains the summer residence of the Royal Family. When the Royal family are not in-residence visitors can access the grounds and some parts of the castle.

    There are plenty of places to visit in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Meet the locals and enjoy Scottish Adventure Experiences, discovering a range of outdoor adventures and amazing attractions. Try skiing and snowboarding at either of the two nearby ski resorts: Glenshee which has 36 runs and a snow sports school and, Lecht 2090 which has equipment and clothing hire available on the day.

    Visitors can also enjoy retail therapy and a range of eateries at the city centre-based Union Square Shopping Centre, head to the Aberdeen Science Centre for a family day or visit a range of hidden city-centre gems. Another must-see destination is the newly revitalised Aberdeen Art Gallery, which is home to one of the finest collections in the UK.
