Norwich Airport recruiting more than 50 staff

Norwich Airport is launching a major recruitment drive to attract 54 new staff as it gears up for the summer season.

The airport, which currently employs around 150 personnel, will be holding two recruitment open days on Thursday 3rd and Saturday 5th February in the main departures terminal from 10am to 3pm.

It is looking to fill a wide range of posts including customer services and passenger check-in, airside services including ground handling and flight operations, security, and security assistants for passengers with restricted mobility (PRMs) and hidden disabilities to support them on their journey through the airport.

There are a range of full and part time, permanent and temporary jobs available.

Richard Pace, Managing Director of Norwich Airport, said: “With pent-up demand for holidays abroad and travel restrictions continuing to be relaxed, we’re anticipating a busy season ahead at Norwich Airport and need to recruit around 50 staff over the next few months.

Norwich Airport recently published its full schedule for 2022/23, with 18 destinations in nine countries, and more than 150 connections worldwide thanks to year-round flights to Amsterdam.

These are some of the jobs that will be featured during the recruitment open days:

Customer services and passenger check-in

Providing check in, escort and general assistance to scheduled, charter and helicopter passengers to the highest standard of customer care.

Airside Services

Assisting in the provision of Ground Handling Services to aircraft operating to/from or based at Norwich Airport. Carrying out duties in accordance with published procedures and/or airline/operator requirements and general duties in support of airport operations.

Security

Maintaining aviation security standards ensuring the safe and smooth transition of passengers, staff and airport users in accordance with the Department for Transport directives, and to provide general security for all airport property.

Security Assistants for PRMs

Supporting disabled passengers, passengers with reduced mobility or hidden disabilities on their journey through the airport, ensuring they have the same opportunities for air travel as non-disabled people, in particular that they have the same rights to free movement, freedom of choice and non-discrimination.
