Flybe Comes Up Trumps Again For Punctuality

FLYBE COMES UP TRUMPS AGAIN FOR PUNCTUALITY

<Leading regional airline again outperforms many major industry suppliers for On Time Performance in 2015 Punctuality League published by influential aviation specialist>

Flybe, Europe’s leading regional airline, is proud to have once again been recognised as outperforming many major UK players for its On Time Performance (OTP) in the Punctuality League 2015, published by the globally renowned air travel intelligence specialist, OAG. The annual report is regarded as the industry’s most comprehensive annual ranking of on-time performance (OTP) for the world’s airlines and airports.

Flybe was one of only two UK-based carriers to feature in the latest top 20 global airlines punctuality league table*, ranked 17th worldwide with an average on time performance of 87.47%.

Saad Hammad, Flybe’s CEO, comments: “Flybe operates in excess of 450 flights a day. Such official and independent recognition for our punctuality record is always extremely welcome. A good record for departing and arriving within the accepted 15-minute window is naturally one of the main considerations for travellers when deciding to which airline they will take their business.”

He adds: “We aim to provide time-saving air travel in comparison with not just other modes of transport such as road or rail, but also other airlines. This positive benchmarking report affirms that we are on the right track.”

This latest report reinforces other high profile recognition received in recent years. In May 2015, the Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) 2014 On-Time Performance Report confirmed that Flybe had outperformed many other major industry players (defined as those operating over 25,000 flights a year from CAA reporting airports), bucking the industry’s downward trend with an 82% on-time ranking, a full 3% above the industry average. This again exceeded that of such well-known names as British Airways (77%), Easyjet (78%) and Ryanair (79%).

This followed having been named as the UK’s most punctual airline in a report issued by the influential consumer watchdog ‘Which? in December 2014.
